The other day, Lemon and I met up with Olive for pizza. We were talking about how college is going (Olive is a freshman now!!! >w< our baby's all grown up.....) our lives, anime, etc etc... and, of course, A String Between 10 Years Ago And Today. Most of our team has moved on to other projects (we miss you!!!), but the three of us swore on our extra cheese: by our skills combined, we have what it takes. There's more stories to tell about our disaster girls Green, Pink, and Purple, and we promise to tell them!!

Hey guys! Minty's back again to update you on the project.
First of all, I want to say thank you all so much for the overwhelming response to our return!! We got so many lovely emails... I honestly teared up a bit reading some of your messages ;o; I'm so happy to have you cheering us on! We will not let you down, I swear it on my favoritest mug! (it has harumichi as cats >w< Olive painted it for me!! It's at my place right now, I'll have to bring it over soon xD)
Secondly, the news! Your old faves will be back, but we've been kicking around some new ideas too! Take a look at a design Olive's been cooking up (and a bonus sketch of Green):

Update!!!
Hi everyone! How's the weather where you are? Is it spring yet, or are you still bundled up?
We have some really exciting news to share- remember that incredible Green/Pink fansong somebody made a few months ago? (We'll link it here, in case you haven't heard it yet). Well, we were thinking that going past the bounds of where free music online could take us sounded great, and Lemon asked the person who made the song if she'd like to become more than a fan. And she said YES!!! OMG, our next game is gonna have PROFESSIONAL MUSIC!!!! Please give a warm welcome to Cherry as our team's official musician and soundkeeper!!!!!
(Okay, I'll admit it- as soon as I saw her myspace bio said "IRL Cat" I was like pleaaaase can we keep her? lemon pleaaaase I promise I'll feed her every day and get her all her shots!!! xD what can I say! I love cats!!)

Good morning everyone! Minty here with some news on how the game is taking shape. You can check out what we've got going on here:
Now, as you can see, this is still just the firstest of drafts, but we wanted to see how things would come together! Lemon's hard at work writing and I'm so so excited to see where her story goes!!! Olive finalized all the character designs and is starting to DAZZLE us with cgs, and I'm putting things together, doing my L33t H4ck1ng as Olive's been calling it, wrangling the dark forces of the Computer, the usual!
Wow.... we really did more work in 2 months than in the last 3, huh.......... Cinnamon is earning his keep xD
He totally didn't say anything about it when he joined but he's actually like a really good artist, too?! We're begging him to do some art but he doesn't think he's an artist... but he totally is!! I can't draw a stick figure even!!! What other talents lurk beneath the surface of this mysterious man....

For as long as we knew her, it's always been her dream, and over the last year she made it happen!!! Gooooooooooo Olive!!!! Lemon and I are gonna miss seeing you around between classes, but.... we'll always be your senpais, right??? TwT)/
But don't worry, guys, her art's not going anywhere! That said, with all the new homework and stuff she's bound to have, we'd like to expand our team to take a little pressure off her (and make sure her hands don't fall off)!! BIIIIIIG NEWS!!!
hi everybody, olive here H4CK1NG IN2 DA W3BS1T3 while minty isn't looking! art school is awesome and i'm learning soooo much new stuff that'll make web super POWERFUL!!!!! YEAHHHHH!!! there's so many cool people here (to be totally awkward in front of) and fun classes (they have not just art but, like, CRAFTS! woodworking!!! omg!!!) and stuff that i wish i had time to do it allllll.... ahhh but lands beyond is my first love. and homework is my mistress. I have a bit of a commute now, but fortunately I didn't have to move... if i had to be away from my mom and dad and all my friends AND draw balls (not that kind you PERV XD like sports balls in still life projects!!!) till my hands fell off i'd cry every day. but i'm surrounded by people who love me, so i can take on ANYTHING!!!
oh yeah news!! sorry i forgot hehe~
so thank you to everyone who sent in a portfolio!!! we were all really impressed with the caliber of your work and it was so hard to choose!!! but ultimately something really cool happened.... so lemon hatessss drawing but she had to take an art class this semester and she saw someone drawing the most AMAZING stuff!!!! she showed the rest of us and we were all blown away. so she finally asked this girl if she'd like to join us and let us just say....

Sooo I had a big talk with lemon yesterday (who knew Some Girl in my art class was a cool videogame writer?! :0) and I'm ready to start drawing!! I'm actually really glad they took me on cuz i cannOTTT draw with a tablet like at alllllll. olive tried 2 show me and then cinnamon tried to lend me his but i just dont get it. but fortunatley everyone's super flexible and is willing to work with me!! ^_^ these are my people♡

- Lemon's outlined the entire story, and has written most of the events common to all routes. Yayyy everyone clap!! I'm so proud of her!! I know it was really hard for her cuz she usually writes as she goes without outlining, but Olive wanted to get started on all the CGs so we needed a rough idea of what would happen.
- Cinnamon's finished the sprites for Lilac and Green, and is working on sprites for Pink now!
- I finally made the stupid thing stop crashing when you try to fullscreen it. (lemon printed out a medal and stuck it to my shirt when i figured out what was causing it xD we were starting to wonder if we were gonna have to just write "DON'T FULLSCREEN THIS" on the box...)
- Kiwi finished all the backgrounds!
- Cherry's finished a couple of songs already! She sent us some more tracks she's working on and A New And Improved Purple is gonna be stuck in all our heads forever xD when you hear it, you'll know why...
- and brave Olive has delivered to us some really gorgeous CGs even though she has a ton of homework!!

We're all having a party at lemon's house (well, she SAID it's a work sleepover, but i dont see any work done.... even cinnamon is goofing off and he NEVERRRR goofs off. hes like allergic 2 goofing lol.olive isnt even drawing can you believe it!!! shes helping minty and lemon cook... a spatula in her hand instead of a pen, never thought id see the day..... and cherry even drove in to be here, it's a huge event!!!!!!!!!!!!! she brought her saxophone!!!!!!!!!!!! honestly i just feel so loved and blessed to be a part of this and i wanna share the feeling with everybody. i love you!!!! we're gonna make such a fun game for everyone just wait and see!!!!!

OLIVE'S ART UPDATE!
hi guys!! it's me, olive here!! just letting everyone know it's smexytiem ;)
i saved all the cgs from the chapters with lemons (lemon writing lemons xD) for last. at first i was too embarassed!! but then i had to draw nude models in class for a year and i can do it now!! but you should've seen me the first class lol... i was totallly overheating @_@
is it bad to be desensitized?!??!?
but it works for you guys cuz now you get to do it with the lovely ladies ;)

Good morning, everyone! Been a while, right? Cry for our absence no longer- 'Tis I, Cinnamon, with an exciting update:
We're going to be having an original soundtrack CD for sale!!!
Cherry has been hard at work on the soundtrack for over a year, I'm so glad this is happening! I didn't want to say anything until we got the boxes in, didn't want to cast a shadow of bad luck over it all... but they're here now and they look INCREDIBLE!! Wow, it feels unbelievable. Our CD case is drawn by our ever-persistant Olive and I drew the CD cover!
Cherry's work is the star, though.... who knew a cat could play the violin? I promise, both here and in the game, you'll be moved by her dazzling songs.
Olive, Kiwi, and I are also in talks about..../dramatic pause.... T-Shirt and keychain designs!! Exciting stuff!!

they let me hav the keyboard again at the second annual LB new year party YAY!! its me kiwi!!! and 2007 is gonna be OUR YEAR!!! i can feel it!!!!!!!!! this year lemon made a 7 layer cake!!! she was SOOO secretive about it... she was like GRARRRR GET BACK TO WORK GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN >:O but it totally paid off. its YUMMY!!!!!!!!

Life update + More!
Hi guys!!! Kiwi's got updates for youuu~! Can you believe they actually let me type again after the new year's party (^ w ^)''?
First of all: we've settled on mugs instead of keychains as our merch!!
i hope the people who had their heart set on keychains aren't too disappointed, but I promise you'll all love the mugs!!!
Second of all, a personal update, if I may! Sleepovers have always been part of LB tradition but now, every night is gonna be a sleepover !! LOL for me anyway. lemon needs a new roomate for next year and thought itd be cool if it were one of us so we could go ALL OUT without bothering the normal people xD!! so we're gonna get SO much work done!!! We're so close... *squeee* I can't wait to have a finished game in my hands!!!
I was thinking... my dream is that one day when we're rich and famous we could all get a big house together B) and maybe even invite fans sometimes?!
well, if I want to make my dream come true we've gotta work!!

Long time no see, guys, it's Minty here!! I've been hard at work, whew! But I wanted to wish you all a happy new year as well when I had the chance.

Minty here, chiming in!! I was the fashionista in charge of makeovering the site! xD The site overhaul was super challenging, but i'm thrilled with the results. In addition to what Olive covered, we've also updated the character pages with gameplay screencaps, and Lemon wrote us a fun new section where the characters talk about each other! There's new wallpapers in the wallpaper section, too.... Oh! And there are two secret pages hidden in the site now. Spoiler warning for the game, but we couldn't resist!

Update - We Were HackedAs many people and clowns know, yesterday was April Fool's. A time of jokes, goofs, merriment. Unfortunately, we ourselves found Lands Beyond to be the target of a malicious prank.
Someone hacked into our website and wrote an angry post pretending to be one of our team members. I'll be honest- LB has had its share of haters, and that's to be expected with the subject matter we deal with. And we never back down, because telling these stories is too important! We're not gonna churn out boring games with no LGBT+ people just cuz it makes people hate us less, right?! But this is on another level. Whoever did this was spying on our lives, looking for things to twist and use against us, in a mocking parody of our actual reality.
It's really scary that someone would go that far.
For now, I've changed all our login passwords and locked down the post, and I want to go through with you what's true and what isn't-
Alright, that's all for now! I'm going to get back to work. We promise, everything is on schedule, and we'll all see you this Pride Month on JUNE 5TH, 2008 for the release of THE WEB EXTENDS FURTHER OUT!!!!
